A 50/50 Proposition:   ITR Economics’ President Alan Beaulieu looks at the latest in the tariff tiff and analyzes the back and forth especially between the US and China.  He sorts out the winners and losers and explores whether it will be 50/50   He also sees some ominous signs from stock markets outside the US that may bring a contraction home sooner than later.

A Dark Anniversary:     As Mark Twain said, “History may not repeat itself, but it rhymes.”   It’s been ten years since the “Lehmann” weekend when the Great Recession of 2008 began with the meltdown of Lehmann Brothers and others.  The “Knowledge at Wharton” blog offers some interesting retrospective on these events, some lessons learned, what the next Great Recession might look like and  “where are the risks now?”
